Ranthambore National Park lies in the state of Rajasthan and is also often on the agenda of Golden Triangle Tours for visitors to India. This park is most famous for its Bengal tigers and is a testament to the incredible success of Indiaโs โProject Tiger Initiativeโ. Ranthambore National Park was once the royal hunting ground of the Maharajas of Jaipur. Throughout this sprawling park, you can catch a glimpse of ancient ruins and the magnificent 10th-century Ranthambore Fort, which is a World Heritage Site.ย
Most visitors to Ranthambore enjoy at least one jeep safari which will take you to the heart of the park and hopefully sightings of wildlife sanctuary, including deer, leopards, sloth bears and Bengal tigers, as well as hundreds of rare birds, As well as a tiger safari, you can experience the Soorwal Lake Bird Safari and the Chambal River Safari (also known as the Crocodile Safari).
We canโt promise you will see a tiger, as they can be fairly elusive, but hopefully you will! The early start of the morning jeep safaris means you might need a coat at certain times of the year. The drive through Ranthambore itself to the National Park is a wonderful feast for the eyes as you pass shops, markets, and daily life going on at its colourful, noisy, Indian best.
